Colourless and Coolerless Components for low Power Optical Networks (www.greenc3po.eu)
C-3PO is an EU-funded 3-year project started in June 2010. The total funding is 2M€. C-3PO aims to develop a new generation of energy-efficient photonic and electronic components for next-generation access and high-speed metro-core networks. Within C-3PO, CIP will design athermal DWDM modulator and photodiode arrays, and IMEC will design concurrently the associated electronic driver and receiver arrays with low power consumption at 100Gbps throughput.
